Terms of Service
For restaurants, who are our customers, and for the guests who order through TablaOne at their tables.
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. The service
TablaOne is table ordering software for restaurants in Nigeria. It gives a restaurant a signed code for each table, a menu that opens in a guest's phone browser, a kitchen console to accept or decline orders, a dashboard, and a settlement statement.
Payments are processed and settled by vyyBe Bank. TablaOne is not a bank and does not hold anyone's money. A guest's payment goes through vyyBe Bank into the restaurant's vyyBe Business account. vyyBe Bank has its own terms for that account and for guests' wallets, and those terms apply alongside these.
The meal itself is a contract between the guest and the restaurant. TablaOne is not a party to it.
2. Accounts and roles
- A restaurant account is created by its owner. The owner must be entitled to act for the business whose CAC number is given.
- The owner can invite staff by email. Each person has one role: owner, manager or kitchen. Kitchen accounts only see the console; managers see orders, the menu, settlements and settings; the owner sees everything, including the vyyBe link, staff and verification.
- Each person keeps their own password private. The one exception is the shared kitchen tablet, which may stay signed in for the kitchen staff of that branch. A kitchen account needs the manager PIN to cancel and refund a paid order.
- Two-factor sign-in is available to every restaurant user and is optional. The owner is responsible for who has access and for removing people who leave.
- Guests do not need an account. A guest's order is tied to an anonymous session on their phone.
3. One vyyBe Business account per restaurant
- Each restaurant links exactly one vyyBe Business account. Every paid order from every table and branch settles into it.
- The account must belong to the registered business. Only the owner can link it or change it.
- To go live, the restaurant sends its CAC certificate, a director's ID and a proof of address for the branch. The documents stay in TablaOne's private storage and are described to vyyBe Bank for verification. The restaurant confirms that they are genuine and current.
4. Fees
- TablaOne charges 1.5% of each paid order, capped at ₦1,000.00. Nothing on declined, expired or unpaid orders. No monthly fee, no per-table fee, no hardware.
- The first 30 days from go-live are free.
- Card, bank transfer and USSD payments carry a processing cost from the payment rail. It is shown on each order as an estimate and comes off the net settlement of that order. Wallet payments carry none.
- VAT at 7.5% and a 5% service charge are added to every guest bill and shown on the receipt and the statement. Filing with the tax office is the restaurant's responsibility.
- An order is charged under the fee rule in force when it was created. Changes to fees are posted on the pricing page before they take effect.
5. Orders and payment
- An order has one of these states: New, Awaiting payment, Paid, Preparing, Served, Declined, Expired or Refunded.
- The kitchen accepts before any charge. A new order is accepted with a ready time or declined with a reason. If the kitchen does not answer inside the restaurant's response timeout (5 minutes by default, set by the owner between 2 and 15), the order is declined automatically and the guest is told the kitchen did not respond.
- Once accepted, the guest has 15 minutes to pay by vyyBe wallet, card, bank transfer or USSD. An order still unpaid when that window closes expires and is never charged. Money that arrives after expiry is refunded.
- By accepting an order, the restaurant agrees to prepare and serve it once it shows Paid, at the price shown to the guest.
- By sending an order, the guest agrees to pay for it if the kitchen accepts it, within the window, and to be at the table named on the order.
6. Refunds
The refund policy is part of these terms. In short: nothing is charged before acceptance, an expired order is never charged, late payments are refunded, and a restaurant can cancel and refund a paid or preparing order. A refund reverses the exact settlement lines, including the TablaOne fee.
7. Restaurant responsibilities
- Keep the menu and prices accurate. The guest pays the price shown on their phone when they order.
- Mark allergens and dietary labels correctly. TablaOne shows what the restaurant enters; it does not check it.
- Account for VAT and the service charge and file with the tax office. TablaOne adds them to each bill and lists them on the statement; it does not file anything.
- Control staff access: invite only people who work for the restaurant, remove them when they leave, and keep the manager PIN with managers.
- Keep the kitchen console attended while Taking orders is on. Ordering pauses by itself when no kitchen device is open, so guests are not left waiting.
- Comply with the laws that apply to the restaurant, including food safety, consumer protection and tax.
8. Acceptable use
The acceptable use policy applies to restaurants, their staff and guests, and is part of these terms.
9. Availability
- TablaOne is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults, and we make no uptime guarantee.
- We may take TablaOne down for maintenance. When the API is not answering, guests cannot send orders and nothing is charged. The status page shows whether it is up.
- Payment, settlement and refund timing depend on vyyBe Bank and the card, transfer and USSD rails.
10. Limitation of liability
- TablaOne is not responsible for the food, the service at the table, or any dispute between a guest and a restaurant about either.
- TablaOne is not responsible for delays or failures in payment, settlement or refunds that happen at vyyBe Bank or on a payment rail.
- TablaOne is not responsible for lost takings while the service, the restaurant's internet or a kitchen device is down.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to a restaurant for any claim is limited to the TablaOne fees that restaurant paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
11. Termination
- A restaurant can stop using TablaOne at any time: switch off Taking orders, take the codes off the tables, and ask us through the contact page to close the account. There is no notice period and no closing fee.
- TablaOne may pause a restaurant, and will say why, if these terms or the acceptable use policy are broken, if verification fails, or if the law requires it.
- Orders already paid are settled as usual. Records are kept for the periods in the privacy policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. Using TablaOne after a change means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute is for the courts of Nigeria.
14. Contact
